The Campbell-Logan Bindery is a third generation family business. We have been binding and repairing books since 1950. We are conveniently located miles from the Mall of America in Fridley, MN, a few minutes north of the Twin Cities metro area.

The process is mechanized, but not automated. So no matter if we are binding one book or 100 our staff of seven handles each book throughout the entire process.

Starting in his basement, Allan Campbell began our company in 1950 simply as The Bookbinder. He later had an opportunity to buy the Logan Bindery. Allan combined both businesses into The Campbell-Logan Bindery, Inc. The work was a mix of repairs, library binding, and textbook rebinding.

Greg Campbell bought Campbell-Logan from his father in 1977. Over the next few years letterpress printing reemerged more broadly as an art form. Greg added fine binding to our regular work. Campbell-Logan helped create limited editions for many fine press customers. Among them were:

  • Gerald Lang at The Bieler Press

  • Neil Shaver at The Yellow Barn Press

  • Henry Morris at The Bird & Bull Press

  • Phil Gallo at The Hermetic Press

  • Gaylord Schanilec at Midnight Paper Sales

  • Harry Duncan at The Cummington Press

The business needed room for expansion. In 1979 Campbell-Logan purchased a building in downtown Minneapolis on North Second Street. Greg named the building Inkunabula Arts, and Campbell-Logan resided there for 36 years.

In 2017 we sold the 120 year old, four-story building. Campbell-Logan moved into a more compact single-story building in Fridley, MN.

In 2019 Duncan Campbell continues the enterprise as the new owner of the business.
